Area you represent: Target Area E (bordered by South Avenue to the south, the San Joaquin River to the north, Dickerson to the west, and as far as Chestnut to the east)

Years as EOC Commissioner: 3 years

Profession: Pastor

Best advice ever received: “ Stay in school.”

Favorite advice I give: “Do what is right!”

Favorite restaurant, dish, or pig-out food: Red Lobster … I like the shrimp plates more than anything else.

Proudest moment: I’d have to say that my proudest moment was when my granddaughter accepted Christ and did a spiritual praise dance especially for me.

Greatest personal accomplishment: after counseling and advising young folks to do the right thing and they accept the advice and go in pursuit of doing those things that are acceptable to their family, their community, and the world they live in.

Dream vacation: My dream vacation is to take my wife on a two-week cruise to the Caribbean.

Favorite weekend activity: On the weekends, I enjoy barbequing and getting together with the family.

Last good movie I saw: I don’t go to movies often. The two movies that I can watch over and over are Forrest Gump and The Green Mile.

If I had a million dollars I would … put it in an account [to generate continuous income] and have it equally distributed to all of my children when I pass.

Favorite place to shop: I enjoy shopping at Burlington Coat Factory; I also enjoy taking my wife jewelry shopping.

Favorite childhood memory: Everything I know, I learned from my father. We did a lot together … I worked with him, relaxed with him, hunted with him. My favorite childhood memory is being advised and guided by him.

Words that describe me best: genuine and compassionate caring for others

I like to watch: CSI, Cold Case

In my spare time … I like spending it with my grandkids … all 16 of them!

If I’ve learned one thing in life, it is … to trust God.

Anything else you’d like us to know?

I have a personal motto “pursuit of excellence” in everything that I do. If it ought to be done, it ought to be done right!

I also enjoy working with youth and young adults in overcoming life obstacles. It is extremely rewarding to see them get on the right path or turn their life around.
