Area you represent: I am a representative of the Foster Grandparent program.
Years as EOC Commissioner: 15 years
Profession: I am retired but I worked as the Executive Director of Alpha House, a recovery home for women, and am now a proud foster parent.
Do you sit on other boards/commissions? Yes, I sit on California Women’s Commission on Alcohol and Drug Dependencies and the Foster Parent Association.
Best advice ever received: “Communicate!”
Favorite advice I give: “Communicate!” “Take care of yourself.”
Favorite restaurant, dish, or pig-out food: I love dining at Erna’s Elderberry House.
Proudest moment: My proudest moment was when I experienced a spiritual awakening.
Greatest personal accomplishment: My greatest personal accomplishment was raising my family.
Best vacation I’ve taken: The best vacation I take is right after the Board Retreat.
Favorite weekend activity: On the weekends, I enjoy visiting with my family. I also enjoy quiet time in the mountains.
Last good movie I saw: Juno
Scariest experience: The scariest thing I’ve been through was when my first child got sick. It was nothing serious … I just paniced.
If I had a million dollars I would … give it away.

Favorite childhood memory: I remember my grandmother’s nurturing love.
Words that describe me best: Independent. But, I am accepting of someone’s help if I need it; I’m not proud.
I like to watch: KVPT (Valley Public Television), the news, and movies
In my spare time … I like to read, meditate, and chat on the phone with friends.
If I’ve learned one thing in life, it is … everything begins and ends with me!
