Do you sit on other boards/commissions? I also serve as a member of the Coalinga/Huron Cemetery Board District.
Best advice ever received: “Do what your instincts tell you to do.”
Favorite advice I give: “Be all that you can be.” “Do what you can to be where you would like to be!”
Favorite restaurant, dish, or pig-out food: My favorite pig-out food is pizza.
Proudest moment: The proudest moment in my life was having my children receive their high school diploma.
Greatest personal accomplishment: My greatest personal accomplishment was becoming interim City Manager for the city of Huron.
Best vacation I’ve taken: The best vacation I’ve ever taken was a trip to Hawaii – when I was young and single – with my four girlfriends.
Favorite weekend activity: On the weekend, I enjoy staying home and sewing.
Last good movie I saw: I can’t recall the last good movie I saw, but one of my all-time favorite movies is Baby Boomers, at least that’s what I think the movie is called.
Scariest experience: My scariest experience was riding a Ferris wheel with my then future brother-in-law.
If I had a million dollars I would … pay off my house, quit my position, and enjoy life with my family.
Favorite place to shop: They closed the store, but I enjoyed shopping at House of Fabrics (like I said, I enjoy sewing).
Favorite childhood memory: My favorite childhood memory is playing with my sister who is two years older than I am. We would play cowboys and Indians in the backyard. We would pretend we were in a stagecoach, place rocks in the circle to mimic a campfire, and heat up our coffee like the cowboys did.
Words that describe me best: Quiet, hard working, survivor
I like to watch: Monk
In my spare time … I sew.
If I’ve learned one thing in life, it is … to take one day at a time and enjoy it to the fullest.
Anything else you’d like us to know? I enjoy being a board member. The colleagues are very helpful, knowledgeable, and share the same goals I do to help others.
