Proudest moment: “My proudest moment was when my kids surprised me with Mariachi’s for my 65th birthday.”

Greatest personal accomplishment: “Bringing up my kids after their father died.”

Best vacation I’ve taken: “Going back to Texas 2 years ago and spent 2 weeks and looked everybody up.”

Favorite weekend activity: “Dancing.”

Favorite shows: “I love the police shows. Court TV and forensics.”

Scariest experience: “We got followed home from the dance one time. We got away, though.”

If I had a million dollars I would… “I would buy me a grand house and take care of my kids.”

Favorite childhood memory: “First time when my dad let me drive. I was 14 and a half years old.”

I admire… “My youngest daughter. She’s young but she has good head on her shoulders. She’s the type who will sit and listen to your problems. She helps you see what has to be done.”

I like to read or watch: “Everything. Mysteries, biographies… everything.”

Favorite music or artist: “Any kind of Mexican music.”

In my spare time… “I read.”

If I’ve learned one thing in life, it is… “I learned how to manage my finances. After my husband passed away, I had to learn how to take care of my family and myself.”
