James Coble

Name: James Coble
Program: Head Start
Position: Staff Development & Training Coordinator

First Job: Shaping surfboards – not a big demand locally though so I quickly moved on to a sports store.

Birthplace: Naha, Okinawa, Japan

Years at FCEOC: Going on 12 years.

Best advice ever received: My dad said, “Live a balanced life. Work hard, play hard, and live each day to its fullest.” I do my best to live by that cliché.

Favorite advice I give: Always have a Plan B. Life almost always does not turn out the way you planned and many times it’s a blessing in disguise.

Favorite restaurant, dish, or pig-out food: Everything!

Proudest moment: When Betty and I moved into our new home.

Greatest personal accomplishment: I haven’t gotten there yet but I’m enjoying the challenge.

Best vacation I’ve taken/dream vacation: Mexican cruise. Our annual family camping trip comes in at a close second.

Favorite weekend activity: Being with family and friends.

Last good movie I saw: Flight 93.

Scariest experience: Falling asleep on freeway 909 while driving. I ended up underneath a big rig.

If I had a million dollars I would… Give it to my wife, of course.

Favorite place to shop: E-Bay, it’s the one place that has everything you could ever possibly want.

Favorite childhood memory: Family road trips, summer vacation, and endless adventures with my friends.

Words that describe me best:
Fun, adventurous, spiritual, and easy going.

I like to watch: I’m a news and history junkie so CNN and History Channel.

In my spare time… I like to relax and read.

If I’ve learned one thing in life, it is… That there is no one thing. Have room in your heart for forgiveness, move on when you make a mistake, and cherish moments with family and friends. Keep your faith and things generally turn out really great. Just to name a few...
