First Job: Packing fruit (peaches, plums, nectarines) into boxes at a fruit packing shed in Reedley, CA.
Birthplace: Reedley, CA
Years at EOC: 3
Best advice ever received: From my father to me - regarding my decision to marry my husband Dennis: “There are aspects of life that I don’t know very much about, however, I do know the measure of a man. Dennis is a man that truly loves you and he is the kind of man that will crawl on bloodied knees to make sure that his wife and children are taken care of.” Dennis and I have been married for 30 years…. And my father was right.
Favorite advice I give: “”Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”
Favorite restaurant, dish, or pig-out food: Chicken Parmegiana at the Olive Garden
Proudest moment: Going back to school in my 40’s and earning my bachelor and master’s degrees. I was the first person in my family to graduate from college.
Greatest personal accomplishment: Together with my husband – raising four honorable, hard working, fun children.
Best vacation I’ve taken/dream vacation: My husband, Dennis, and I spent a week in New York City a couple of years ago and it was great!
Favorite weekend activity: Sleeping in late, napping, gardening, hanging with my best friend, traveling down to L.A. to visit my grown children.
Last good movie I saw: The Blind Side
Scariest experience: Bringing my first child home from the hospital…. Didn’t those doctors and nurses realize that I was totally clueless about how to care for this crying infant, and grow him into a person????
If I had a million dollars I would … g ive some back to God, Pay off our mortgage, help my kids pay off their college loans, and then put the rest into retirement accounts so that Dennis and I don’t become a burden to our children.
Favorite place to shop: Home Goods… oh yea! ;)
Favorite childhood memory: Traveling numerous times to visit my grandparents in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada
Words that describe me best: Compassionate, Extremely loyal to the ones I love, a driven person, love, love, love to laugh.
I like to watch: Dancing with the Stars, Intervention, Say Yes to the Dress
In my spare time … I walk outside or go to the gym, cook and bake for my family, watch movies, spend time with friends and family.
If I’ve learned one thing in life, it is … to keep my mouth shut when I am upset.
