| Head Start paid homage to 84 parents, teachers, and home base educators during its 19th Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on Tuesday, May 20. The jungle-themed event, which took place at International Catering, celebrated more than 14,000 volunteer hours.
“Head Start is more than a preschool … it’s a family,” exclaimed Head Start County Wide Policy Council Chairperson Jessica Chavez. “We do so much more than just cut and paste.”
Volunteers dedicate their time helping children, 3 to 5 years of age, develop and strengthen emotionally, socially, cognitively, and physically. They work closely with teachers to ensure a student’s educational success.
Our hats go off to all of the volunteers who are positively impacting so many young lives.
Congratulations!
