| Three-dozen children attending EOC’s Early Head Start program partook in an annual transition celebration at Franklin Head Start in Fresno.
“It’s amazing to see these young minds blossom before your eyes,” says EOC’s Early Head Start Director Kathleen Shivaprasad. “The event’s kite theme signified that growth.”
During the transition ceremony, children, their parents, and staff played games, sung songs, and read books together. The colorful event was designed to be appropriate for the late 2-year-olds and 3-year-olds attending with their families. Each child received several gifts; participating parents were presented with a certificate recognizing the accomplishments of completing the Early Head Start program.
Early Head Start offers comprehensive child development and social support services to low-income pregnant woman and families with infants and toddlers up to three years of age. It focuses on the healthy cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of children as well as supporting positive family relations. The program serves 35 infants/toddlers in childcare and 128 infants, toddlers, and/or pregnant women in our home visitation program.
