Employees got a special treat last week when a fox and her kit made a guest appearance at Transit Systems.

“I actually saw three kits and the mom,” says Transit Systems Business Manager Rob Weyant. He adds, “Their den is in the Transit ponding basin.”

The foxes didn’t wear out their welcome and, after a few minutes, retreated back to their den.

Weyant isn’t sure if foxes are common in the area, but finds their visit gratifying. “I’ve never seen foxes in Fresno before, only on my trips to Colorado.” He adds, “It is great to know that some wild animals can coexist with humans. Needless to say, it was quite the treat to be able to see them from my office window.”
