Our School of Unlimited Learning (SOUL) Charter High School passed its most difficult test with flying colors. Last month, SOUL received full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for its outstanding academic programs. This coveted certification tells the public that the school is trustworthy and validates the integrity of the school’s program and student’s transcripts. Among other benefits, students attending an accredited institution are eligible to receive Cal-Grants, free money for college.

WASC, one of the six regional associations that accredits private and public schools in the United States, visited the school in May. The team was so impressed with the quality of SOUL’s programs and services that the commission granted the school the maximum of three-years for the initial accreditation period.

SOUL is now fully accredited through June of 2011, by which time it will complete the process for a full six-year accreditation.
