They had a few weeks of vacation to relax, now Early Head Start and Head Start employees are back, ready to start the 2008 – 2009 school year.

Last week, approximately 600 staff members attended a two-day pre-service training at the Convention Center’s New Exhibit Hall. There, they received a warm welcome and words of encouragement from Executive Director Roger Palomino, and inspirational presentation on “Never Quitting” from keynote speaker Jim Boswell; and specialized training on topics including sexual harassment; Senate Bill 198, California’s workplace safety law; child abuse; and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 45, non-discrimination for disabling conditions.

More than 85 vendors from the community participated in the event.
