| Sanctuary Youth Services programs are assisting Fresno-Madera Continuum of Care with its point-in-time (PIT) homeless count. For a 24-hour period, starting at midnight on Wednesday, January 28, our colleagues, together with employees from various nonprofit agencies, will be assigned specific areas throughout the county where they will count the homeless population.
The information gathered is used by Sanctuary Youth Services programs to apply for grants from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; it will also provide statistics for the city and county of Fresno’s 10 year plan to end chronic homelessness.
If you would like to volunteer on this effort, please contact Angie Nguyen, with our Transitional Living Center, at 268.1045. Volunteer training will be held January 26 and 27.
