SOUL Student vs Staff Basketball Game

It’s the only time you’ll see or hear SOUL teachers teasing their students about failing, taunting them with posters around the school that clearly state “STUDENTS WILL LOSE;” students, on the other hand, vow that this year they will win. The back-and-forth banter is all part of the school’s fun and competitive spirit, and considered pretty “routine” in the weeks leading up the school’s Students vs. Staff basketball game.

Last week, SOUL’s annual basketball tournament brought out the school’s best players (from the school’s boy’s and girl’s basketball teams) and some rusty, and not so rusty, “old-timers” (staff). Both teams went head-to-head for the golden prize – bragging rights.

Everyone played an extraordinary game; but, it was Staff (both men’s and women’s team) who, for the fifth consecutive year, came out on top. Both were close games; Women’s Staff beat Students 18-16 while the Men’s Staff team took home a 55-42 victory.
