Friday Brownbag Cinema

Join film buffs each Friday for Friday Brownbag Cinema at noon in the Met's 4th Floor Lyles Theater.

Friday Brownbag Cinema is a new noontime film series featuring cinematic classics in a presentation that will leave you longing for the golden age of American movies.  Bring your brownbag lunch and enjoy a reduced admission of $5 per person.

Upcoming Film Schedule

May 29, 2009: "The Bell Boy" (1918) starring Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle and Buster Keaton.  Also featured will be Charlie Chaplin's short film "Kids' Auto Race in Venice" (1914) and two animated shorts, "Dud Leaves Home" (1919) by Wallace Carlson and "Never Again, The Story of a Speeder Cop" (1916) by Tom E. Powers and Raoul Barre.

June 5, 2009: Encore of May 29 program

June 12, 2009: Double Feature.  "Fatty's Magic Pants" (1914) starring Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle and "The Fireman" (1916) starring Charlie Chaplin.  Also featured will be the animated shorts "The Phable of the Phat Woman" (1916) by Raoul Barre and "Betty Boop and Grampy" (1935).

June 19, 2009: Encore of June 12 program

June 26, 2009: Encore of May 1 program: "A Day's Pleasure," 1919 starring Charlie Chaplin.  Also featured are animated shorts "Pantry Panic" starring Woody Woodpecker (1941) and "I'll Be Glad when You're Dead, You Rascal You" starring Betty Boop with a cameo appearance by Louis Armstrong (1932).

July 3, 2009: Double Feature.  "One Week" (1920) starring Buster Keaton and "Behind the Screen" (1916) with Charlie Chaplin.  Also featured will be the animated shorts "Krazy Kat, Bugologist" (1916) by Leon Searl and "AWOL: All Wrong Old Laddieboy" (1919) by Charles Bowers.

July 10, 2009: "The Navigator" (1924) starring Buster Keaton.  Full hour feature.
