| SOUL students rolled up their sleeves this spring and experienced first hand what it would be like to enter careers in the fields of medicine, human resources, and aviation, to name a few.
Made possible by a grant from Kaiser Permanente, approximately 20 students from SOUL’s Career Class were placed in internships throughout Fresno, including a nursing and rehabilitation center, Chandler Air Field/Memley Aviation, and several of our Agency’s programs including Human Resources, Transit, Food Services and Information Technology. The students gained knowledge, invaluable experience, unique networking opportunities, and a $500 stipend.
During a luncheon last week in which the student’s accomplishments were celebrated, Dr. Mark Wilson, SOUL’s Principal, urged students to “spend their stipend wisely” and “invest”. He also thanked employers for graciously opening their doors and businesses to our students, mentoring them, and being great role models.
