| Are we really in control when we make decisions? This, and business ethics were the hot topics discussed during our quarterly leadership forum.
Using consequence-based, principles-based, justice-based, and character-based ethical theories, Professor Ida Jones, J.D., asked each group to examine case studies and determine the best course of action for ethics cases; the group quickly learned that the ethical way wasn’t always the easiest solution. She also explained Behavioral Economist’s Dan Ariely’s theory that humans are predictably irrational – “the idea that we repeatedly and predictably make the wrong decisions in many aspects of our lives” and that we are influenced by circumstance.
Thank you to all management staff who participated in the leadership forum.
