Six hundred Early Head Start and Head Start employees took over the Golden Palace last week when they kicked off the 2009-2010 school year during their annual two-day pre-service.

The event serves as a refresher course for returning employees and gives new employees the opportunity to learn more about Early Head Start/Head Start and EOC while becoming acquainted with their colleagues.

Combining a movie and a skit, Head Start’s Registered Nurses - under the direction of Delinita McCormick - used their creativity to deliver their bloodborne pathogen training. Other topics discussed during the first day of the pre-service include Early Head Start & Head Start program updates, sexual harassment training, and mandated child abuse reporting training, to name a few. During the second day of training, employees were provided job specific training in various locations throughout Fresno.
