They’re not creepy critters but plush stuffed animals that are bringing comfort and smiles to teens, ages 11 – 17, in the Sanctuary Youth Shelter. Central Community Church’s Summer Vacation Bible School delivered approximately 20 “comfort critters” to our Sanctuary Youth Shelter clients.
The turtles, made out of felt, were stuffed and sewn by the Bible School students. Each came with a note of encouragement from each student to help shelter clients though their personal crisis by offering a message of hope. Emily writes, “I hope this turtle makes you happy. God is with you.”
Sanctuary clients were eager to receive their “critter”. One client was touched. She says, “These are so cute. I didn’t know people could be so nice.”
