| Please join us in celebrating Roger Palomino’s retirement Thursday, March 11. The Caribbean-themed celebration will take place in the 1900 courtyard at 3:00 p.m. A photo book will be available for you to share your favorite memory or simply to wish him well on his new journey.
Mr. Palomino played an active role within the Agency beginning in 1969 as a Board Commissioner, Board Chair, and finally as Executive Director. He officially stepped down in December after 15 years at the helm.
“I look forward to staying involved in the community particularly in those issues that impact the low-income community,” says Palomino. He adds, “But it’s time for me to spend time with my family – especially my two grandchildren – traveling, and helping my son, Paul, at the restaurant [Palomino’s].”
Under his leadership and tireless efforts, our Agency developed and implemented numerous programs that have helped Fresno County’s low-income population achieve self-sufficiency. He spearheaded our School of Unlimited Learning (SOUL), a charter school for at-risk youth; Sanctuary Youth Shelter, a shelter for runaway youth; and Transitional Living Centers, an independent living program for homeless youth and young adults, to name a few. He is also extremely proud of his work in bringing attention to the needs of the rural communities.
