| During this week’s Board meeting, our Board of Commissioners took action on the following items:
- Approved the submission
of four competitive grant proposals for Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Prevention Services for Youth in Fresno County to the County of Fresno totaling $960,000.
- Approved a service agreement with the San Joaquin River Conservancy to provide fire prevention and weed abatement services. The agreement will allow a crew supervisor and two corpsmembers with our Local Conservation Corps to provide fire prevention and weed abatement services at the Spano property located near Highway 41 along the San Joaquin River.
- Approved the submission of a grant application in collaboration with Trust for Conservation Foundation, on behalf of Roots of Change, to renew the current contract. The California Department of Food and Agriculture Health Food Access Grant helps increase the number of farmers markets in the County of Fresno that accept Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT), WIC and Senior Farmer’s Market coupons.
