| Nothing screams, “Summer is around the corner” quite like limes. Small, yet supple, limes can be used as a garnish, in baked or grilled dishes, or even used in a delicious Key Lime Tart.
Get your fresh limes at Market on the Mall every Wednesday and Friday between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Market on the Mall is located on the Fulton Mall just outside of the 1900 building.

Key Lime Tart Recipe
Ingredients:
- 8 (approx. 3 ½ inch size) frozen tart shells or mini pie shells
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons key lime juice, fresh or bottled
- 1 to 1 ½ tablespoons finely grated lemon or lime zest.
- Dash salt
- Whipped cream or whipped topping
- Lime slices, strawberries or other fruits for garnish
Preparation:
- Place tart shells on baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees for about 6 minutes
- Meanwhile, whisk together the eggs, sugar, flour, key limejuice, zest, and salt. Spoon or ladle filling into the partially baked shells. Bake until custard is set, about 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool completely or serve slightly warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
- Makes 8 servings. Tarts may be frozen.
