| Safety is the number one priority for our Transit Systems, and three of our very own were honored for their dedication to safety with the California Highway Patrol’s Blackwell Award. Transit Systems bus drivers Naomi Andrews and Lance Haxton, and Supervisor/Trainer Rosalind Esqueda were honored for logging in 20-years of accident-free driving.
The Blackwell Award is named after Robert C. Blackwell, a CHP officer and the first School Bus Pupil Safety Officer in the Valley. Officer Blackwell served 20 years with the California Highway Patrol before retiring. Now, the Blackwell Award recognizes drivers for their 20-year commitment to public safety as school bus drivers.
“We are very proud of Naomi, Lance, and Rosalind,” says Gary Joseph, Transit Systems Director. “Their dedication to safety shows the dedication all our Transit Systems drivers strive to achieve each day.”
Congratulations!
