Congratulations SOUL Class of 2010

The historic Wilson Theatre was filled with soul, spirit, and tears of joy last week as our School of Unlimited Learning celebrated its annual commencement ceremony. SOUL’s largest graduating class, 60 students, marched in black or white caps and gowns in celebration of their accomplishments and to bid farewell to teachers, staff, and friends who became like family.

Several other students were also honored with awards including:

Academic Achievement Awards

Ricardo Abundiz Jr. & Tessla Rogers

 Outstanding Senior Awards

Frank Perez & Esperanza Martinez

Principal Award

Ricardo Abundiz Jr.

Parent Service Award

Samuel and Rose Lićon, parents of Desiree Lopez

Dianna Villareal, mother of Ricardo Abundiz

Service Leadership Award

Ricardo Abundiz Jr. & Desiree Lopez

During the ceremony, Dr. Wilson presented the Roger Palomino Scholarship Award to Ricardo Abundiz, Jr., and Candice Whittle for outstanding GPA’s, participation in community service and extracurricular activities, and the motivation for future academic achievement. This award is given in the name of our previous Executive Director, Roger Palomino, whose vision and passion was to see all youth succeed. The scholarship is to be used towards the students’ college education.

Congratulations SOUL and the Class of 2010! You did it!
