| It was quite the festive Friday at Market on the Mall when Congressman Jim Costa stopped by to show off his cooking skills. The event included demonstrations by Congressman Costa alongside Eric Amador, former White House Chef, Chef Jon Escobar from Food Services, and Chef Judy Lee from WIC.
Before putting on his apron, Congressman Costa introduced himself to each vendor at the Market. In an effort to promote healthy eating, Congressman Costa, with the assistance of Chef Amador, entertained the crowd by preparing a nutritious Mediterranean sandwich with hummus on flat bread.
Along with the delicious cooking, Market patrons enjoyed a free yoga session by instructor Richard Stone from The Yoga Center in Fresno and enjoyed live music provided by CDFI’s Jeremy Hofer and his band Walkingmercy.
The event was made possible by Central Valley Health Network, Congressman Costa’s Office, and Network for Healthy California.
