| During the last weeks Board meeting, WIC client Deanne Postlewait was recognized for her participation and success with the program. If it weren’t for the services provided by WIC, Deanne wouldn’t have been able to afford the special therapeutic formula needed for her 5-month old son Matthew. WIC was able to provide the formula until it was fully covered and paid for by Medi-Cal.
Our Board of Commissioners also took action on the following items:
- Highlighted our Local Conservation Corps and their participation with the Solar for all California project. LCC will be completing 20 solar installation units through September 2011.
- Highlighted our School of Unlimited Learning (SOUL) for its increasing Academic Performance Index (API) score for the fifth consecutive year as a Fresno Unified School District ASAM (Alternative School Accountability Module) school.
Approved the Kaiser Permanente 2010 Essential Services Grant for $75,000 that will provide funds for financial literacy workshops and coincide with our emergency services through August 31, 2011. |
