Weatherization Staff the Top of
Their Class

Can you remove a glass from a windowsill, cut it, and complete a windowsill installation that is correctly weatherized and insulated? Can you create a window screen from scratch? Two of our Weatherization staff can. Lourdes Hernandez and Latisha Conway successfully completed a 5-day Basic Weatherization Training in San Bernardino County and completed the training at the top of the class.

At the training, Lourdes and Latisha learned the concepts and principals governing all CSD Weatherization programs. They both learned basic measures to maximize the energy within a home such as how to install a water heater blanket, using a manual glasscutter for window insulations, and how to caulk two surfaces.

“The class served to be very useful. I have a better understanding now of what kind of trainings our Weatherization crews attend in order to be successful in completing a work order,” says Lourdes.

At the end of their training, Lourdes received a score of 97% in a comprehensive exam and Latisha received an outstanding 100%.

Congratulations to you both!
