The Green Jobs Bus Tour made a last-minute stop at house receiving a modern face lift by our Local Conservation Corps’ Solar Crew. The Tour shot footage of our crew in action to include in a video showing how our LCC is preparing young adults for a future in green jobs.

LCC’s Solar Crew was pleased to show-off its solar know-how by installing solar panels and a solar inverter box. LCC Assistant Manager Salvadore Terry and Recycling Manager Marcelino Salazar explained the value of solar training and future job opportunities corpsmembers could have once they complete the program.

The 100-hour bus tour was part of an ongoing effort to persuade voters to vote against Proposition 23 – a suspension to the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 that, according to its opponents, would have threaten environmentally friendly jobs and can lead to more air pollution and other greater health risks.
