Pull up your pants and keep them there! LCC Director Shawn Riggins is making it clear to everyone entering the Reverend E. Swillis Neighborhood Youth Center that they are entering a no sag zone.

No Sag Zone signs, which depict a man sagging his pants inside of a no symbol, hang at both of the building’s entrances and throughout the property. “Young people are in the battle for their future,” says Riggins. “Who is going to take them serious when their pants are around their knees and they’re exposing their underwear? It’s our responsibility at LCC to help them become well-rounded, responsible, and respectable young adults.”

The No Sag Zone signs are proving to be effective. “I have noticed when Corpsmembers see me coming, they start pulling up their pants without me having to say anything,” adds Riggins. “They definitely have gotten the message … especially since their jobs are tied into it!”
