A slight breeze offered temporary relief from the heat for dozens of employees who lined up in and around the 1900 building patiently waiting for their turn to order a sweet treat from the ice cream truck. This quarter’s employee appreciation event had everyone tapping into their inner child, screaming for ice cream.

The ice cream truck also made stops at programs not located in the Executive Plaza: Food Services, Transit Systems, Local Conservation Corps, Sanctuary and Youth Services, Health Services Clinic, and Home Energy Assistance Program. While employees at our off-site WIC clinics were not graced with the music of the ice cream truck, they were visited by three special “ice cream elves” – WIC Assistant Director Brent Walker, Associate Executive Director Dawn Cagle, and Executive Office’s Deidre Braun – who shared a variety of refreshing treats. Employees of our Early Head Start, Head Start, and School Age Child Care programs were not forgotten; an assortment of snacks from Bella Fruita was delivered to all centers.

Whether it was “Big Dipper” or chocolate covered pretzel, we hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Thank you for all you do and continue to do for our Agency and clients. We could not have come this far – almost 46 years – without your dedication and hard work.
