The California Association of Coordinated Transportation (CalACT) presented Transit Systems director Gary Joseph with the 2011 Outstanding Rural Program Award during its spring conference.

Citing “innovative and coordinated services”, CalACT board member George Sparks remarked on the success and outstanding service our Transit Systems has given the rural residents of Fresno County over the years.

CalACT hosted over 300 participants at this year’s conference which featured renowned transit leaders from around the state who discussed a multitude of topics including legislation, services, operations and technical issues. In accepting the award Mr. Joseph thanked the board and Association for the recognition and concluded by saying that, “the award will be brought back to the drivers, dispatchers and staff that have everything to do with earning this award.”
